Hi!

So I do horse riding almost daily and used to go with a friend and we helped each other tack up. But now she doesn't do much horse riding and I went a couple of days ago and realised that it took 10 mins to put a bridal on! She used to do my bridal most days because she literally wasn't strong enough to pick a saddle up! So I did both of our saddles and she mostly did our bridals.

I know the theory but it takes ages and when the horse won't take the bit I panic and most people at the stable don't really want to help. I have had a few stable management lessons lately and practice all the time but I just can't get the hang of it!

Help would be appreciated !

Ugh, I always had trouble putting the bridle on >.< Especially so as I'm not very tall lol.

Try offering a treat with the bit (eg. hold a sugar cube or a slice of apple in your palm with the bit).... this always gives an incentive for them to open their mouths :)

If the horse keeps lifting their head up and out of reach, you can try tying the halter a bit shorter.

Yes! I read this at the yard and I tried it with a slice of apple and it worked! yay! Thanks so much :)
