Did you know that hamster stuff is at Walmart and Kmart? Say no if you haven't in the replies!

Yep! Most all stores carry pet supplies (: But you want to be careful because often times the stuff is not properly sized or can cause your hamster to become sick. ie they sell pine, cedar and scented bedding, cotton fluff, very small wheels and balls, etc. Although ironically pet stores sell this stuff too... You just need to be careful wherever you shop for your pet!

Yeah! I have actually seen a few good hamster supplies in these stores, and they are a lot cheaper than pet stores! But I don't buy hamster food or bedding from those stores as they usually don't have the proper kind. :)

I knew that, I but I don't really buy it from there. I try and keep buying the two companies I really like: Kaytee Clean & Cozy and SoPresh Aspen. As PetLover500 said above, you have to be careful. They really aren't a pet store and don't specialize in pets such as hamsters. So often times they will sell pine and cedar which are dusty, cotton which can cause blockages, and other things that hamsters shouldn't have in their cage.

I've got Walmart's water bottle, and although some people say it leaks like crazy, it's my hamster's favorite bottle and has never given me trouble. You just have to look out for things that are generally unsafe. (Pine/Cedar bedding, Cotton fluff, scented items)

I did know this, but as the others also said, normal stores don't really sell the best supplies, as it is almost always recommended to shop for items at pet stores, not normal stores!

I did know this! I walk around these other stores and I say, "Hey, isn't this at Petsmart?" I have seen hamster stuff in stores, but I just don't buy them, like most of the others. Do you now buy stuff from the stores?
