I thought this was such a cute news:- http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3325157/Jar-jam-Terrified-hamster-gets-stuck-glass-bottle-squeezing-earthquake-hits-Japan.html#comments

until the comments were doubting that the hamster itself went in the jar or speculation whether the owner put it in .. I'm thinking.. maybe the hamster went in head first then turn itself around .. it's possible isn't it?

it looks like a young hamster to me, and hamsters can actually double back on themselves in tight spaces- meaning it is entirely plausible he did squeeze in there head first, then turn himself around. Check the xray-vision of hamster turning back on themselves inside a tube in this Nature documentary, that particular bit starts at about the 1 minute mark-

Such an informative video and made me have a new appreciation for these wonderful animals! I love how bendy their spine is and lol at the stuffing food face. Wow, did not know the pouch extended to the hips. Is that only a syrian feature?

Super cute!! I'll bet the hamster did it himself--my hamster is always squeezing through places and turning around in holes that I imagine are too small for her.
