This has been around for a while but idk if anyone has posted it on this forum. It certainly qualifies for "Worldwide", as it's a video from Japan.

Anyways, here's the news clip about a hamster, Lala, who lives comfortably in the company of cat.

Lala climbs all over her kitty friend and often snuggles up into her fur. The cat also cleans the hamster, and the hamster will return the favor. You can see the hammie feels safe because she grooms herself :)
Lala also "rides" the cat around the house and is unafraid to hop into the cat's food bowl and nibble on kitty kibble while the cat is eating--the cat doesn't seem to care.
The two will also nap together, as seen at the end of the video.

The voice in the video is supposed to be the cat's voice from what I can tell, but the cat is never named. It is a female though, so maybe it thought of Lala as a kitten? Who knows...but their interactions sure are adorable.

My hamster does this to my dog Moley[find out about him in my profile] They cuddle and share treats, even though Moley always eats the most of it :)It is very cute to see a bond between these two creatures.

This might be a one in a million situation (if it's accurately presented) I just hope it doesn't encourage other people to try it or a lot of hams might end up dead and hurt. I don't find it cute really.

I can never imagine ever taking that risk with my hamsters life and introducing it to any other animal.

When I was 8, I had no idea how to treat animals. I abused poor hammy. I introduced him to minka and they did this, but my auntie got so freaked out  (she's the one that gave me hammy)

From what I can tell this is indeed that 1-in-a-million situation. The video indicates that this is common, as Lala is 1 year old at the time the video was posted and they were introduced early on. The video clips of the owners are cut out (as you can tell in the short blip during the video).

I personally doubt that most people don't have the common sense to keep a hamster and a cat separate. There are tips for introducing them, but I don't personally trust them.

I just thought I'd share this because it's always interesting to see that 1-in-a-million situation.

I'd like to think people would know better but on one facebook group I'm part of there has to be a rule against sharing photos of hams with any other animals because people just won't stop putting their hamster on their dog or holding their ham in front of their cats face.

Never underestimate the limits of human stupidity.

( Ik this was back awhile ago but... )

The video was posted in 2008

I'm pretty sure it can? Isn't cats saliva dangerous to humans, too or something? Then again, it was back in 2008 so there is nothing we can do now

Oh I do! They're only allowed together when I'm watching them, even though they usually just cuddle and sleep lol
