50 in Singapore dollars is about US $30 or less. So, I think that will be super cheap for those of you that lives in the US region! :)

Just want to add a bit of info to this sticky.

The Joyous Vet - Dr Grace Heng
475 Choa Chu Kang Ave 3 #01-30A
Sunshine Place S 680475
Tel: 6769 0304
The Joyous Vet
Mon, Wed-Sat 12-3pm, 7-10pm
Sun 2-7pm.
Tue, PH closed.

Dr Grace Heng has treated my chins and rabbits before. She is quite good with small pets, and was previously volunteering for SPCA. I dunno if she is still doing so now. I haven't brought my hamster to her yet, but maybe bringing my gerbil down if I can get an appt with her.

Animal Clinic (Katong) - Dr Hsu
55 Lorong L Telok Kurau #01-63
S 425500
Tel: 6440 4767

Dr Hsu has also treated my pets before. He has been treating small pets for quite a while. So has experience in it.

The Bishan Park vet, Dr Cathy Chan went back to further her studies again, I don't think she is back yet. But yes, I've also had her seen my pets and she was always gentle with them. She does not have years of experience compared to the older vets, but she has gone back to upgrade herself again. So that's good. Hopefully she'll be back soon to help us tend to our small pets.

AMK vet in Sembawang rd specializes in Avian medicine. They get many dog and cat patients too. I've been there for my dog and cat before, but not my small pets as generally, I don't see them treat many. It's almost always dogs, cats and birds in their waiting room. They will still be able to treat general ailments, but if your hamster/gerbil is seriously ill/hurt, just go to the more savvy vets.

For Namly Animal Clinic, Dr Chan is good as well. She has worked with Dr Ling for many years. Not only that, but she has to review her cases with Dr Ling, so if she has any problems with a patient, she would consult Dr Ling about it. But I don't mind seeing her for my pets cos she does have years of experience with small pets, working with Dr Ling.

This is what I've learned so far, from bringing my pets to the vets. Hope that this has helped.

I recommend Dr Ling from Namly Animal Clinic because of personal experience and also because she deals with small animals such as hamsters. I think the rates are around $$20-30 for consultation and medication. You can call up to enquire about the actual rate. The location is a little out of the way but it's worth the effort if you wanna get a good vet who knows her stuff about hamsters.

Here is the full address:

Namly Animal Clinic
74, Namly Place
Singapore 267223
Tel: 64694744

Other clinics in Singapore are listed here:

thanks for the info. If I ever need to go to a vet, i'll go to that one!

Has been bringing Porky, my beloved Syrian hammie to Namly Animal Clinic..

1st time we went, Dr Mei was the doctor who treated Porky because of skin problem, she was gentle and good with hammie couple of weeks back.

Had to rush Porky back to the clinic yesterday morning, the boy was shivering and breathing hard on Saturday night, got me worried.

The receptionist at Namly was nice, despite having a full morning and they close at 12, she managed to get me in and Dr Ling attended to Porky.

Suspected that Porky was having chest/respiratory problem. Dr Ling is really good with hammie.

I recommend that you visit Namly Animal Clinic regarding your pets.

Now to pray for Porky's recovery.

We brought our dwarf to the Mount Pleasant Clinic at Bedok South Ave 3 too and were pleased with the experience. The vet was patient and handled our little guy well. Consultation cost $30.
