She's changed the budget to "$210 maybe every two months." Just to let you know hehe. :)

Oh okay, that might be more doable.

$210 every two months is still a bit of a stretch with guineas-Not to mention you sound like you do not have the time for them.

What do you want? You seem to be jumping around without giving any feedback as to which animals you're seriously considering.

Wow, guinea pigs must be expensive over there. I have no idea what that is in €, but $210 dollars per two months leaves $105 to be spent per month - that's a reasonable amount of money to keep pigs, certainly enough to feed them without a stretch.

But, there's the issue with time and being a responsible owner which I hate to say it, doesn't seem like the OPs sibling is ready for just yet. The cats weren't cleaning on a daily basis, I struggle to see how she'd cope with such a messy animal like that of a pig.

OP, I still stand by my opinion that no pet seems to suited for you as of now,,. You seem to just be hopping around and getting a pet for the sake of it because you can't get an animal that you actually want. Most reptiles are extremely long lived and so are a huge responsibilty, therefore although they could suit in terms of what you want, they're defiently not something I'm going to personally recommend.

Oh, no, I rally want any pet other than a snake! Snakes and fish are the only pets I wouldn't deal with. My sister is the picky one.

Hay here is $25-30 for a large bag (about 1/6 of a live stock sized bale, and he goes through one or two of those a month), and pellets are $20 (But that lasts up to 9 months or so), and in veggies in my region are really expensive, so I spend probably something like $50-70 on those a month? Not to mention bedding (which I like to use aspen in one half, fleece in the other, and aspen lasts me 2 weeks at $13), and that he destroys his toys really quickly ($45-75 every 3 months or so).

Maybe its just my region?

OP: But you do seem to be hopping around? First it was rats, then Guineas, mice, etc-We just need more feed back from you.

A gerbil seems like a decent choice for you, plus you can probably share some of your hamsters supplies with them as long as you make sure to clean it well first, here's a bit about gerbils.

Males tend to be friendlier than females

If they're well socialized they can be very fun, they don't sit still for long but some will be content to chill in your hand for a few minuets before going to explore.

They don't mind being played with in the day time, however they are active at nighttime mostly.

They need a wheel, just like a hamster, and don't mess with their tails cause it will fall off (By mess with their tail I mean like trying to pick it up by it or dragging it by his tail) They do this as an escape method, better to lose it's tail than it's life. ALSO you need a wheel that their tail CAN'T get caught in! This is important! I'd go with a solid plastic one.

They're pretty hardy, my mom never let me take mine to the vet cause it's a "ten dollar rodent" and my gerbils would always live for 2-3 years before passing away.

After the first costs (cages and such) they're not too pricey

They do best it pairs of two, usually with three two might gang up on the other, especially in females. However I've had three siblings and before that three unrelated gerbils live together content (they happened to all be pretty chill and the introductions were done carefully, however it was a month before I trusted the newbie with my old gerbils)

A good sized cage would be a fifteen gallon tank with two gerbils, but I kept mine in this four story rat cage till it eventually broke

http://www.petco.com/product/113055/WARE-Chew-Proof-Four-Story-Hamster-Cage.aspx

lasted three years and the previous owner used it with their rats for at least two before giving it to me

They LOVE thick bedding, be VERY careful with plastic cages because they are major chewers! I wouldn't recommend a bin cage for a gerbil, and soon as they find an edge they can start chewing on they will chew and chew and chew till it's a massive hole.

PM me for more gerbil info if you want :)

Snakes are not the only reptiles.

If you don't want to feed insects daily, you could get a crested gecko. They don't need heating and eat powdered food mixed with water. They live 10-20 years though.

I have some questions, too;
•Do guinea pigs need friends?

Yeah it's best for them as there social animals

•Are mice nocturnal?

Yes
•Are mice cuddly?

Well I guess it depends on there personality. Some like to run a lot and some are lazy (a bit like hamsters) but they are handeble
•How much of the yearly expenses do heating bills take up for cold-blooded animals?

Not Sure
•Are gerbils nocturnal?

I think there crespucular
•Are gerbils cuddly?

Depends on there personality
•Do gerbils need friends?

They prefer living in pairs
•How expensive are bird vet fees?

Not sure
•How long do birds live?

Different breeds live longer or shorter than other for examples cockateils can live to 20yrs whilst some parrots can live 50+ yrs

Thanks!
