I'm not big into cavies, but I thought this was too cute not to share!

That is so cute! The videos are really adorable just watching them all walk in a straight line across.  :goodvibes:

I wonder if they've had any 'accidents' though. I've heard that Guinea pigs don't see depth well, so they could just step over the barrier and fall without realizing it's a fall.

I was wondering that too (and my SO wondered if they were "free roam"). I've never had a cavy myself, but maybe with the ledge, they know to stay on? I dunno!

That zoo is awesome.

Guineas don't have all too great sense of depth, no. BUT they're FAR from stupid. My guy, Happy, is partially blind and has a open level in his indoor cage with a ramp going up on one side. He knows where his ramp is and knows how to use it - hasn't had any accidents yet, as for as I'm aware. When my pigs are free ranging in my garden they often at times go up on the raised flower beds, when I call them for their veggies they don't just fly off the wall. They turn around and go back the same way they got up. They walk over to the edge sniffing, but you can see they're cautious doing it (they kind of stretch out keeping their back feet firmly in the ground lol).

They could have possibly had some accidents, but i doubt it'd be common. Pigs catch on fairly quick - they also "follow the leader" too, so once one pig gets the jist, the others quickly catch on too :)

Thanks for the info, Emma! I thought of you the instant I was wondering... hehe!

They seem rather intelligent from this. I like the idea of "follow the leader".
