well,i think it should be syrian because they are really easy to tame, or if you would like to keep two hammies than winter white would be perfect! :hamster2: ;D

yes, syrians are generally recommended for first-time owners. just be careful not to over stress young syrians by too much handling when you first get them else they might get wet tail.

dwarf winter whites are pretty easy to tame too.

do look around the forum for more topics and read up as much as you can. the main site also contains useful info:

hey there
proabily syrians for they're size and apparent easiness to tame, but do consider two winter whites as they can be easily tamed too.
i've always wanted two hamsters together, i bet it'ed be well fun!!!!!
good luck

personally, i prefer dwarf hammies....they're jus sho cute cuz of their small size and the fact that they have so much body fat makes them look like a lil marshmallow!! xP
also, they tend to be less dirty than syrians.
P.S. im sry, i dun mean to offend any owners who love syrians. i luv em too, jus not as much as dwarves... ;-)
