HH: Hi Lily, congratulations for winning hamster of the month! How are you feeling now?
LL: Wow! I feel really grateful. This way I want to thank you all for your votes. There were great entries the previous month, I couldn’t personally choose one, so I’m all the more glad for winning the first place.

HH: You mentioned you like sitting in people’s hands, people must like you a lot for that!
LL: Well, I do this on my own initiative. I feel pretty safe in human hands, almost like in my house cramped with paper tissues. And the more are those hands warmer, the better. Whether people like me for that? I guess they do.

HH: You have been featured in HH’s May 2009 Calendar and now you have won June’s HOTM! What’s your secret in being so photogenic?
LL: Erm, you said photogenic? Thanks! My mom told me the secrets how to look good in photos. I try to feel relaxed, not move too much for a few seconds and make cute poses in front of the camera lens. The other important aspect is keeping me and especially my fur looking great and fit. The right diet with sufficient amount of fresh food, protein and vitamins really helps and before the photoshoot I always have a good bath in chinchilla sand.

HH: Describe your likes and dislikes.
LL: I’m no fussy eater. Despite that I prefer yoghurt (fruit, cheese and else flavoured) drops, sunflower seeds, nuts and cat food. I like running in my wheel (I guess I exercise this way a few hours every night) as well as climbing in and on the tea box thingy that mommy made for me.
As for my dislikes, there isn’t many of them. The only thing from common hamster mix I don’t eat are those thin green pellets. I also don’t like vet visits… I don’t feel very comfortable there, but I know they are sometimes necessary.

HH: Anything else you would like to say to our readers?
LL: I just want to say hello to all hamster owners! Great you’ve decided to take care of such tiny animals. And have a nice summer/winter (wherever you are)!
