HH: Hi Toki, congratulations for winning hamster of the month! How are you feeling now?
T: Wow, I am actuallly feeling quite excited. I’ve never won anything big like this before (well of course except my Mommy’s heart) and it’s quite hard to believe. All I can really say is thanks to everyone that voted for me and I really appreciate it!

HH: Tell us more about how you come to live with your owner, hammie_ham.
T: Well to be honest, in my personal opinion, I think it was one of those love-at-first-sight kind of moments. Like once she laid her eyes on my cage and I went running to the glass (its not fun being stuck inside of a tank to be picked on), I knew I had won her heart. It wasn’t just that I was going to a new home, I was going to MY home! I knew I wasn’t going to be just another hamster left to sit in a teeny cage all day and eventually wind up back in another horrid tank to be picked on yet again. Hammie_ham is more than my owner, she is my Mommy!

HH: How do you normally spend your day (or night)?
T: I’m not really up most of the day. If I am, its really early in the morning to tell my Mommy bye as she leaves for school or I’m just getting water because my diabetes makes me get really thirsty. Once the sun starts to go down I get really excited because that means I can play with my Mommy and do all sorts of fun things outside of my cage! Sadly she doesn’t stay up as late as I do so when she goes to bed I normally run on my wheel (sometimes the WHOLE night), shred toilet tissue, or clean my cage myself. Although most male hamsters are known to be messy and sloppy, I am not! I clean up after myself in my free time.

HH: Describe your likes and dislikes.
T: I actually like a wide variety of things. There isn’t really much I dislike…As I mentioned in my entry paragraph, I LOVE my wheel. That’s like the best invention ever! I also really like brocolli! Mmmm, that’s good! I also like pumpkin seeds, but I can only eat one once a month because that’s a part of my diet. A couple of other things I like are a freshly cleaned cage and running in my little ball, even if its pink! =P

Like I said, there isn’t much I dislike. The only thing I can really think of is corn, when people wake me up from a nap, and when people I don’t know very well try to pick me up. I really only like when my mommy picks me up because she is warm and gives me kisses! Oh and I don’t really like eggs…my mommy cooked them for me once, but I didn’t really like it all that much. I don’t know what the fuss is all about, they aren’t even that good. *BLEH*

HH: You mentioned you love your wheel very much, how long do you spend running on it everyday?
T: Hahah! I would roughly say at least 5-6 hours a night. Sometimes I randomly use it throughout the day for about 10 minutes. I’ve gotten so fast! I remember where I used to live before hammie_ham took me home, they didn’t have wheels so I didn’t really know how to use one. Every since she bought me one, I can’t get enough of it!
